2. Defragment disk.

Since Disk fragments slow down read-write speed of hard disk and system efficiency, you can use defragmenting programs of Windows to clear up them. But it is really slow and time-consuming so to choose a powerful and specific tool is the best choose. No matter you use it or other third-party defrags, do remember to do that regularly to speed up computer.

3. Remove junk and duplicate files in the system.
As system is working for you for a long time, it is inevitable to create lots and lots of junk files. They are not fragments that can be rearranged again but just unnecessary files any more. Therefore, you should remove such junk and duplicate files so as to clean system. As they hide in the every corner of your computer, it is wise for you to get rid of them by using professional duplicate file cleaner rather than doing that manually.
